Topic 1: When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success. Do you agree or disagree with the quotation above? Use the specific reasons and examples to explain your position.

Reason 1:

- luckily born in rich and powerful power

- conception of society that you are living in => luckily to live right times

- luckily to act right => meet a chain of opportunities.

 All people experience success and failure in their life. So what factors affect success? Some people think that hard working play the most important role in success, and luck has nothing to do with it. However, I do not agree with this statement, for some following reasons.
 People who are born in rich, powerful families have a very good chance of their life. They can access the best education, the best condition … that lead to their success. Bill Gates, for example, was born in a family with possibilities that could afford to send him to a private school, which has one of the first computer in United States. If he couldn’t stuck with computers, would there Bill Gates that we know today ? This is just pure luck, not about hard work. Being born in such a family like that, people can be success even without working particularly hard.
 Another important factor, it’s the conception of the society. In ancient time, successful people could be a great warrior. However, modern time considers successful people to be someone who have great career, a lot of money… In some times you can become great, but, in some times you’re just a normal person. So that, luckily being born in right ages can also lead to success.
 Finally, as a philosopher said, success bases on a chain of accidental decisions. Some people succeed because they meet a chain of opportunities. That can be made by hardworking. 
 In conclusion, both hard work and luck are important to one’s success. To be successful, you can not lack one of them.
 

Topic 2: Plants can provide food, shelter, clothing, or medicine. What is one of kind of plant that is important to you or the people in your country? Use the specific reasons and examples to explain your position.

The most important plant to me is Rice.

Reasons:

- supply the main food for the country

- Economics role

-Personal impression.

 Plants play a very important role in human’s life for a long time. Viet Nam is an agricultural country , so that the position of plant is much more special. In my opinion, Rice is the one that so important to me or the people in my country, for some following reasons.
 First of all, Rice supply the main food in my country. Most of Vietnamese are made from rice such as Pho, noodle, many kind of cakes . . . They appear in our usual daily meal. And all of them taste very well. 
 Secondly,as Viet Nam has been the world's second largest rice exporter since the mid-1990s,exporting rice is bringing much foreign currency. Viet Nam is a country that 80% population work as farmer, and most of them plant this kind of plant. So that, to the farmer, rice is their means of subsistence. That’s why there is an image of rice on the VN national emblem.
 Finally, my grandparents are farmer, so, I grew up with the rice field. I still remember very well when standing next to the huge field filled with the smell of rice, the colour of yellow. That scene can make you relax, and soothe all the tiredness. I also remember the nights when all family gathered together boiling Banh Chung, a traditional dish we usually make for Tet holiday. We all stayed awake until middle night, to welcome New Year’s Eve. It’s really warm and happy time.
 In conclusion, Rice is a plant that affects greatly to people in my country not only because it’s the main source of food supply. This plant is important to me as well, and I have a special love for it.
